Registered Charity Number 203644

Welcome to the Swansea & District Branch of the Cats Protection.

-->
The aims of Cats Protection are:-

1. To rescue stray and unwanted cats and kittens, rehabilitate and re-home them where possible.

2. To encourage the neutering of all cats and kittens not required for breeding.

3. To inform the public on the care of cats and kittens.

The headquarters of Cats Protection is based in Sussex. There are Branches all over Britain. We are the Swansea & District Branch which covers Swansea, Neath & Port Talbot, our main aim is to re-home unwanted cats and kittens, we do not have a sanctuary where cats can stay long-term. Our rescued cats for re-homing are in mostly kept in foster homes in and around the area.

Cheeky enjoying the gardenWhere do our cats come from?

1. Many come into our care when the owners have to move into living accommodation where animals are not allowed.

2. When the owner dies or goes into a nursing home and the relatives do not want the cat.

3. Where people (more often than not children) develop allergies or asthma and their doctor advises them to ‘get rid of the cat’.

4. Unwanted litters of kittens where people have not had their cats neutered.

5. Some are just abandoned.
